In Our Community

From our Principal
Dear families,
During the enrolment tours that I conduct for prospective families, I often talk about how our Catholic identity drives what we do. I explain that many of our students are not in faith or may be from different faith traditions and how we cater for diverse perspectives and worldviews through the lens of dialogue and inclusion, while maintaining key learning from a uniquely Catholic perspective. To that end I was struck by the communal prayer of the Pope and the King. Though they come from different Christian denominations, Anglican and Catholic, their prayer together represents a shared commitment to peace, compassion and dignity of all people. This act carries deep significance for interfaith dialogue. It reminds us that authentic faith is not about division or superiority, but about connection and shared purpose. When spiritual leaders come together in humility and prayer, they model how communities of faith can work side-by-side to heal divisions, care for creation, and promote justice in the world. Their prayer is more than a symbolic gesture, it is a call to action. It invites each of us to look beyond the boundaries of belief and to recognise the presence of God in every person. It reminds us that dialogue begins with listening and holding a deep respect for the other.
Our Senior Learning Community, supported by the extraordinary work of Celina Day, helped the Landcare team plant native indigenous plants on the Barkly St corner of our Adventure area. Not only did Celina apply for the grant on the school’s behalf, she also coordinated the Working Bee to prepare the area for planting. I want to thank Celina for her hard work, both physically and mentally! I cannot wait until the plants begin to establish and we can truly appreciate the fruits of her labor!
Every blessing for the week ahead.
Roxanne
