Newsletter Term 2 Week 11 - Friday 4th July 2025

From our Principal
Dear families,
Where has the Term gone?
Loving God,
As we reflect on the challenges, the successes, and the mistakes from which we have learnt -
Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.
Give us strength and courage to do what is right: to be witnesses of our faith.
Help us to appreciate what others do for us,
to give time and effort to help others, to be peacemakers in our family.
Keep us safe in our activities; give us good rest and good fun.
Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.
We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents
And a community that cares for us.
May we always be conscious of you in our lives.
Amen
You should have received your child’s report on PAM and I hope that you have had a chance to read and acknowledge them. These reports provide a stimulus for discussion about the many learning opportunities of Semester One. Formal reports are one of many different ways we communicate about student learning and should provide a picture of your child’s academic and social performance, how they are participating in class, areas of achievement and behaviour linked to the St Mary’s Behaviour Matrix. We recommend using the report at home to have dialogue about learning and engagement. For example:
- praising your child for the areas they have excelled in, where they have shown improvement
- acknowledging their efforts and achievements
- asking your child about the particular tasks they completed in a subject area, which they found interesting, easy or challenging
Parent Teacher Interviews will take place in Term 3. They provide a time to talk directly with your child’s teacher and follow up on any questions from the Semester One report. We will advise once they are open to book on PAM to schedule a time that is convenient for you. We encourage students to be present for the discussion.
Enjoy this break from school routine everyone. I know that many of you are still working and that school holidays aren’t necessarily your holidays. I hope that the change in routine is supportive for you and your children and that you are able to spend some less pressured time together. Go gently everyone. I look forward to catching up next term.
